Why cats are the best pet

Cats are the best pet
Lots of people have pets and I think Cats are the very best pet. Some people will hate cats because they scratch your curtains, but Cats are very entertaining, amazing, and easy to look after. I am sure after you read this you will think Cats are amazing too.

Cats are very funny and entertaining. They are very smart and intelligent, so you can teach them tricks. For example, my Cat Rico can stand on his hind legs and jump up onto our fence. But  you should never tease a cat. Teaching a cat tricks can sometimes lead to teasing. You can play with them as well. You can get cat toys and use them to teach your cat tricks or just play a little game with them.

Cats are very amazing. For instance, Cats can climb trees. Most animals can’t climb trees. And another reason is, that if a cat jumped off a high place, it would always land on its feet! It can jump really high and it can sense if someone was coming up to your front door.

Finally, Cats are very easy to take care of. Unlike dogs, you don’t need to clean a cat because cats clean themselves. You don’t need to get a cage or kennel, because cats always come back home if you keep them in the house for two weeks. Dog’s need company, but cats don’t. So you don’t need to worry about your cat when you go to work every day. And if you're got a rat problem, your cat would eat them, so you don’t really need to feed them much if they eat rats. Another reason is you don’t need a backyard or big section to have a cat. You could just have it inside your house all day and if you have a apartment, you can fit a cat in there. Sometimes you don’t need to buy them a bed! they will sleep on the end of your bed most of the time.

some people might think cats are bad because they have claws, but you can get their claws removed.

Now you know why cats are amazing. They are the best pet for you. So go down to your nearest pet shop and get one now ( unless they're sold out )

Me and my sailing buddy made this poster on Optimist yachting safety rules. We used colored pencils and used pencil to write the words.

Assembly Item

Today my class performed in front of the school for our assembly item.

We did a quiz show about the universe and some of the questions we just made them up.there was a host, a quiz master and mad scientists. I was one of the mad scientists. we had some problems with sound but we got it fixed. Some of the questions were why do we have day and night. Two would be made up and one would be true.

Most of the kids were nervous but I was excited. In fact I really wanted to get up on stage right now!
But when it was my turn I was really nervous because everyone was staring at me! Luckily I was really brave and I said my lines without making a mistake. And without the script!

I was really happy with my performance because I was really brave and I said my lines without the script.

I felt great after my performance because I did good.

The Water Cycle

the water cycle

Introduction
The water cycle is very important. The water helps grow the food we eat. Without it we would be dead. Earth will be just a desert with no life or water.

Evaporation
The water cycle starts off as just water. The heat of the sun evaporates the water and it rises up into a cloud. This is called evaporation. eg: If I left a glass of water in the sun and go away four hours this happens. The water has evaporated And became a cloud.

Condensation
Inside the cloud the water drops push together creating bigger drops. The drops continue to travel up until they get too heavy and gravity pulls it down.

Precipitation
inside the cloud the drops get heavier and heavier until the drops start pouring down. this is called precipitation.
if the drops go further up the freeze and that creates hail and snow.

Run-off
when the water hits land the water travels out to sea or becomes groundwater. this is called run-off.

Conclusion

now you know all about the water cycle. it is important to earth in many different ways.

Beach

Beach

Wizzzzzzzzz, splash!
My line cast out for the third time. Zip! I wound my line in and just as suspected, the bait had disappeared.
My dad came up to me, laughing. he showed me his bait. it was only skeletons. there must be piranhas in there he laughed.

I sighed and went back to fishing. The only thing we had caught today was a crab and a clam.
Laura, my friend, Sophie from Rotorua, little sister, was  continuing her unsuccessful plan on catching the little cockabullys on the rocks.

I was trying to find out the mystery of the disappearing bait. so far, I’m not having any luck.
I decided to annoy Laura, so I threw all her bait in the water. Laura threw a fit and jumped in the water. Splash! No one took any notice of her, so I watched the cockabullys devorer the bait. They never get caught I thought. that means….. That they are the ones stealing the bait! I’m glad that I found out the mystery.

Flaxrock

Wow I said as I entered flax rock. The walls loomed over me like a flower looming over a ant. I watched the other people climb. it looked tiring. If I had some wings I would fly up there, put some doughnuts up there and mostly everyone will get to the top.

I went over to Mr Fords wall. This must be the hardest wall I thought, as I looked up. While I was watching Josiah climb, I noticed that John had climbed to the top. wow I breathed, he must be related to a monkey or a spider Mr Ford said.
When it was my turn, Mr Ford harnessed me on and I walked to the wall. At first I was going up smoothly, but then I slowed down a bit and I started to struggle. Come on, one more rock Mr Ford urged me on.
I tried to remember what I did last time I climbed but I guess my brain was having a coffee break, because I suddenly felt like a new climber.
I looked up. I saw another rock. I reached my hand up and grabbed it.  Come on Mr Ford encouraged me.  Can I come down now I asked.

Its not easy being a stuffed toy

Its not easy being a stuffed toy

Dogs chew me up and no one cares if I get slobbered on.
Little kids chew on me and I get forgotten or lost.
I get flung around the room and kicked out the window.
Or I get stomped on and buried under other toys in a box.

My fur gets covered in sand and gets all dirty and wet.
I get left behind furniture and I get stinky.
My button eyes get pulled out and I have to get new ones.
My fur gets painted and birds poop on me.

I get put in this machine and it drenches me.
They hang me out to dry and they peg my ears.
Visitors step on me in there high heel shoes.
I get put in bed and I suffocate under the blankets.

The cat uses me as its scratching post.
The kids dress me up in pink dresses.
They make me wear pink diapers.
They throw me in the pool.

Its not easy being a stuffed toy.

Sea Monster

SEA MONSTER!!!

I was at the beach, when I saw this thing on the rocks. I thought it was a seal. I was wrong.

It was a huge fish with rows of horse like teeth in its mouth. I was scared out of my wits when I saw the two saber tooth tiger like fangs on the front of its mouth.                           !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The sharp spike on top of its head, looked as if it was poking the sky.
It had leather like scales and its black eyes bore into me. A disgusting smell of rotten fish filled my nose and the sea monster slid back into the water and swam out of sight.
All I saw as it swam away was its bony tail with sharp spikes and the small fins that steered this creature through the water.

Was this creature a dinosaur that somehow survived? Could it be a threat to all mankind?

Ear Safety

I did this poster because a lady came and taught us about ear safety. And you really must protect your ears because they can get damaged.
Did you know that there is this snail shell thing inside your ear, past the ear drum, that has heaps of tiny hairs in it and if they are damaged, they never grow back, so that means that you damage you ears.
